Valerie Hoffman
Producer

Born & raised in New England, Valerie began her professional career at the local CBS affiliate in Providence, Rhode Island.  However, filmmaking had always been her passion, so in less than a year, Valerie moved to Los Angeles, California to try her hand in the film industry.

As a 13 year veteran of the film and television industry, Valerie has worked on both independent and studio films ranging in budget from $200,000 to $42,000,000.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Stonehill College and has over 16 years of production and financial management experience.  She is a member of the Director’s Guild of America and has over 25 films to her credit.

Valerie’s numerous film credits include American Crime, starring Cary Elwes, Annabella Sciorra, and Rachael Leigh Cook; the Las Vegas portion of Get Carter, starring Sylvester Stallone, Michael Caine and Miranda Richardson; the Las Vegas portion of 3000 Miles to Graceland, starring Kevin Costner, Kurt Russell and Courteney Cox; Jeepers Creepers, starring Eileen Brennan and Justin Long; Knockout, starring Maria Conchita Alonso and Paul Winfield; Nice Guys Sleep Alone, starring Sean O’Brian, Vanessa Marcel and William Sanderson; Primary Suspect, starring William Baldwin and Lee Majors; and Say it in Russian, starring Steven Brand, Steven Berkoff, and Faye Dunaway.

Valerie co-produced the critically acclaimed film, The Woodsman, starring Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgewick, Benjamin Bratt and Mos Def; Shadowboxer, starring Oscar winners Helen Mirren and Cuba Gooding, Jr.; and the soon to be released Tennessee, starring Mariah Carey, James D’Arcy, and Ethan Peck (grandson of Gregory Peck).

In 2007, Valerie formed her own production company, Bastet Entertainment, which has several projects in development, more than a few in association with Simone Sheffield’s Canyon Entertainment.  She is also a producing partner with Simone Sheffield and Academy Award winning actor Sir Ben Kingsley in his SBK Pictures, Ltd, a UK based company, which has eight feature films and one made for television miniseries currently in development.

The most prominent of these projects is Will.  The film is based on Christopher Rush's highly anticipated historical novel Will, which chronicles the deathbed meeting between William Shakespeare and his lawyer, as they lay out his final will and testament.  The producing team optioned the book days before its worldwide release, ending a heated bidding war for the project.
